Kids are joining gangs faster than ever before.
The # 1 group of students being placed on anti-depressants are PRESCHOOLERS.
Let me share with you from my own experience from being diagnosed with suicidal depression, chronic pain, ADD and OCD, that the drugs prescribed to me DID NOT WORK, and was like trying to add a band-aid to a wet surface and expecting it to stick.
I have discovered with my own research, a person entering a clinic for problems, are typically diagnosed with having a disorder (and is immediately placed on drugs).

Did you know that a school can receive more $ per student, if the student is diagnosed with a disorder?
The speaker of my 'Wounded Student' class was a Christian high-school principle and said "I used to give up too easily on the 'wounded' kids". He said 'wounded' kids don't fit a specific stereotype - they are amongst the best of families, honor students, athletes, the gifted...
He pointed out that an adult could become the most educated and the best of Christians and not give a darn about the kids/students/wounded in
This Christian high-school principle said that we all like to point the problems towards the students on drugs, but he said the real problem is 'why' these kids are on drugs. I can relate personally with this statement, because I suffered from 7+ years of sexual child abuse by my uncle, and used illegal drugs to hide the memories of those events. When I attempted to get help, throughout the years by a 'professional', I too was offered over 25+ different prescription to 'cure' my problems.
Can you see how this subject touches my heart especially? Can you see why God healing is important to me. I'm thanking Jesus over and over, day after day, for healing me when nothing else ever worked? 22+ years of smoking cigarettes and 17+ years of smoking marijuana...28+ years total of smoking.
So what can you do? What can we all do?
Start to care a little more. Start putting our passion into action.
Let me encourage you (if you have adult kids that are successful) to keep caring about our nation’s kids, because you will probably have grandkids, and great-grandkids...
Are you hearing me?
This There are over 158,000,000+ orphans in the world, and this number does not even compare to the amount of 'foster' or unwanted kids in this world. __________________________________________________________________________
Side Note:
Folks, family members knew that I was depressed, but they didn't know about the sexual child abuse until I was 19 years old, because I was good at covering up my true self... I was a great liar.
Today, I have a new perspective on life since I've read, for myself, most of the Bible.
I finally found out that none of us are perfect, and Jesus would get upset when we pretended to be perfect. Those around me 'acting' righteous didn't help me one bit. I needed to know I wasn't alone... I needed to know about HIS righteousness! Jesus Christ!
I discovered what TRUE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is, and again not from all family members, friends, church... Only by the unconditional love through Jesus Christ. He chose to have a personal relationship with me. I know it is personal because I have seen it with my own two eyes. I have felt him hugging me when no one else would. Am I trying to receive sympathy? NO NO NO! I am trying to wake up the people that can make the difference in the life of a preschooler, elementary, middle and high-school student. We need more encouraging words, more understanding, more unconditional love...
You know? Over the years, I have asked God often: WHY ME? WHY would a child of God go through all of these difficult storms? God has finally answered me this year:
God showed me that with my struggles and hard times, there have also been good times. God showed me that He was holding me through the many storms and keeping me safe. God showed me that He can use people who are broken more than He can use people who are not.
God showed me that if I am willing to share my weaknesses versus strengths that His power would be made perfect.
God showed ME, YES ME, that he heard my cry for help!
If you are abusing a child, PLEASE STOP! If you suspect a child is being abused, PLEASE HELP! 1-800-4-A-CHILD. If it is out of your control, PLEASE PRAY!
