I’ve come to discover that the church has many of the 99’s found, but most of the lost (1’s) are still outside of the church.
Yes, we should serve the church, and I find new inspiration from the church, and I find the love of Jesus at my church, especially when I sing and pray towards the cross.
However, Jesus was more concerned about the one lost sheep, and most of the lost sheep, who are still outside of the church, right?
What did Jesus find special about the church? Why did He want the 99 to come together?
Primarily for us to worship and pray together, but Jesus also wanted us to find STRENGTH in numbers.
Today, I was taught another valuable lesson at CHURCH. Craig preached on 'putting on the armor of God, in Ephesians'. He 'took' us back to the Roman wars. He told us how the Roman soldiers would stand together and carry large shields called a 'door'. The soldiers in the front would hold the 'doors' in front of them, and the rest of the soldiers would hold their 'doors' above their heads as a 'roof'. So, when the arrows came their way, the many doors would reflect the arrows, thus the soldiers would remain safe as they marched.
If ONE soldier would leave the formation, this would leave a huge opening for the arrows to penetrate = death!!! The 99 is important, IF we stand together!!!
God has chosen me for some unique missions, indeed.
I've TRULY felt safe as a street-missionary thus far, because God has always been there to protect me. But, there is strength in numbers, and God wants us to come together!!!
Ecclesiastes
After the sermon, I approached Craig and told him that I was inspired by his illustration of the 'doors'. I asked Craig to be on the lookout for another person to help me with street mission, but its not a popular mission, thus I've gone alone (not alone... indeed... for I've had God with me every step of the way). Will you be the person who walks with me?
There really is STRENGTH in numbers, and I NEED to STOP trying to DO EVERYTHING ALONE, without the help from the church!!!
