In my writings, I attribute the RED letters in the Bible to what really saved me. The RED letters in the Bible are the words that Jesus spoke, not only here on earth, but also a few times after He went back to Heaven. I believe with all of my heart that it was the RED words in the Bible that saved me; not only from myself, but from evil, the wicked, the ‘perfect’, the ‘achieved’, the ‘proud’, the ‘gossipers’, the ‘judgmental’… (which we are all guilty of judging others). When I took the time to read the RED words in the Bible, I finally understood who Jesus really was – is.
In the Bible, there's a story about a woman at a well (getting water). When I read this true-story, it was like a light bulb going off in my head. This is the coolest true-story ever! First, everyone in town knew this woman at the well, and they knew that she was promiscuous, or what we today would label her as a ‘tramp’ and a ‘whor...n’ or a 'slu...sh'. But the reason I find this true-story to be the ‘coolest’ is that Jesus didn’t see her as a tramp like everyone else in town, He saw her for her heart, that she was loving, that He made her, and that He loved her. Despite this woman's many sins, no matter who this lady was, Jesus would have loved her anyway – UNCONDITIONALLY.
I know this because of the RED words in the Bible, but I also know who my ‘only’ true friend was when I was in the darkest times in my life – JESUS. When no one else around liked me, and I never seemed to do anything right, Jesus loved me anyway. He loved me so much, that he died for me, so I could be with Him forever.
The story about the woman at the well goes something like this: she was married and divorced from 5 men, and now had a boyfriend. Jesus took the time to go up to her and talk to her, and this made the priests (preachers), the upstanding women (snobs), and what seemed to be the ‘perfect’ people in the town MAD. Immediately, they started gossiping and judging. Now, I’m not ‘dogging’ the town’s people, I’m just trying to say that they sinned just as much as this woman at the well.
Jesus knew they were ALL sinners, so when the people questioned Him about talking with her (this ‘sinful’ woman), and when they called out to stone her to death (which is what self-righteous did to with woman like this), Jesus did the coolest thing. He answered back to the ‘righteous’ people, “whoever among you is without sin, let that person throw the first stone”. The next thing Jesus did is what I think is so cool. Without looking around, he bent down, and started drawing in the dirt.
Now, you could say that He was drawing a line, to dare someone to cross this line – like we see in old westerns. But from knowing Jesus’ character (and from reading the RED letters in the Bible), I think He was pausing and probably worshipping His Father in Heaven, or He may have been playing in the sand (like a child). Jesus didn’t have one worried thought, because He knew not one in the crowd was without sin, and He didn’t even watch to see what would happen next.
After some time had past, He asked the woman at the well, how many people were still there to cast their stones, and the woman replied – no one. Jesus then said to the woman, then I don’t hold anything against you either.
Jesus didn’t come into this world to condemn the woman; He came to save her because she was lost. John 3:17. Jesus then told her to go and sin no more. She probably sinned again, like we all do, thus we needed Jesus to die on the cross. (click HERE)
WARNING – If you start reading the RED words in the Bible, don’t get discouraged as I did when I first started reading RED. Jesus has a lot to say about sin, and He tells us often that these sins are punishable by death and Hell. Jesus and His Father in Heaven, are without sin, thus even the littlest ‘white’ lie separates us from Him.
There is anger quite often in Jesus’ voice when He points out our sins, but don’t see Jesus as a brute. If you keep reading RED, you will see that Jesus is loving, and that God had a plan. God’s plan was this: for His Only Son Jesus to die for our sins, that if we only believe this, and believe that God is powerful enough to raise Jesus up from the dead, that we too can be saved!!! When we ask God for forgiveness, and ask Him to save us (Just as we are), then we are forgiven completely (past and future sins), I John 1:9, Romans 8:37-39, and John 10:25-30.
If you read all of the RED in the Bible, you will discover, that Jesus does care about
YOU (despite your sins), and that His LOVE for you is UNCONDITIONAL. Jesus is NOT like anyone you know today.
Jesus will humble those that ‘pretend’ to be perfect. Just like the Garden of Eden, God gets upset when we try to hide our sins. So, express your sinful life to God and ask Him to forgive you by Jesus blood (Romans 3:20-25). Jesus will save you JUST AS YOU ARE. Just BELIEVE that God is powerful enough to save a wretch like you, because His grace truly is AMAZING!!! Once you are His child, He will never leave you or forsake you!!! (click HERE)
So I encourage you, if you are looking for HOPE or LOVE in all the wrong places, please take the time to read the RED letters in the Bible!!! I guarantee you, just like me, you will find what you are looking for – a TRUE FRIEND – and you will be set FREE – FREE INDEED!!!

This is also why I know the Bible is true (still today), because the self-righteous and the ‘achieved’ may have changed it long ago (but they knew too that they needed God's Amazing Grace).
