If you have lived on Earth awhile, then you have witnessed tragedies happen in threes. Recently, in Springfield, Ohio, three Chinese students (attending a local college), were killed in a car wreck when a man lost control of his vehicle and slammed into them.

In the small community I grew up in, Ossian, Indiana, three teenagers were killed, when the driver tried to ‘out run’ a train. The principle of their high school had just made it a rule, that a student couldn’t use ‘the train’ as an excuse to be late for school anymore. More than 20 years later, three wooden crosses remain at these train tracks.

I am certain, as I have witnessed significant events happen in threes, you have also witnessed events ‘in threes’.

This year, I lost three people that were very dear to me from the Earth (mother, uncle, and friend).

Throughout the Bible, time and time again, there were significant events happening in threes: At Jesus’ crucifixion, there were three crosses, with three men hanging on them, Shadrach, Meshach, and Obednego were thrown into a blazing furnace to be killed, there were three wise men that followed The star to Bethlehem and witnessed Jesus’ birth, Jesus rose from the dead after three days of being killed, God = 3 = God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

I would like to point out that Shadrach, Meshach, and Obednego did not burn up, two that hung on the three crosses (at Jesus’ crucifixion) went to Heaven, the three wise men were kept safe to witness King Jesus being born, and yes The Holy Spirit is God.

Matthew 18:20 (Jesus said) “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”

There is significance and power in two’s as well. If you take the time to read the verse prior to Matthew 18:20, (Matthew 18:19), it WILL change your life!!! But today, I want to focus on ‘the threes’.

So, if you have always questioned whether or not things happen in threes, yes, they really do.

I would like to share with you one more verse (which combined with the other 2 verses = 3 total verses used to illustrate the power of three’s) (Count Dracula on Big Bird would say AH, AH, AH – if you don’t get this joke about Count Dracula, just keep reading.)

Always remember the following verse!

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of THREE strands is not quickly broken.”

Don’t remove the powers of The Holy Spirit. Mark 16:17-19 (Jesus’ Great Commission) "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." (3 more POWERFUL verses – AH, AH, AH).
