I AM FREE INDEED
On the Side

Whether you have seen the movie “When Harry Met Sally” or not, click on the following clip to see actress Meg Ryan (as Sally). She portrays someone that is ‘extremely finike’ (picky). When she orders food, it is comical (unless you are the waitress taking the order)!

You MUST turn your volume way UP, or you will probably not hear the clip.

Is this you?

Don't be so sure.

When it comes to following Jesus, are you picky?

Let me give you some examples:
1. Do you pick and choose who you tell about Jesus?
2  Do you pick and choose who you love?
3. Do you sit on the side-lines, or do you participate?
4. Do you read God's Holy Word (Bible) everyday? Or do you pick and choose?
5. Do you spend time with God in prayer? Or just when you're scared?

I could go on and on, because I know well what it means to be an 'on the side' Christian. Most of my life has been in the gray (luke-warm).

Today, I am ON FIRE!!!

What has changed me?

How does an ex-con, ex-drug abuser, ex-smoker, ex-manic depressant, ex-drinker, ex-liar... Have so much JOY that I have to SHOUT IT FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOPS!!!?

Did you notice the EX part of the words above?

How did I become an EX?

(First and foremost, by God and God Alone!!! By reading God's Holy Word (NIV), and spending time with God in prayer!!!  Believe me, I tried everything else and FAILED... click HERE)

  1. By believing God loves me unconditionally (NO MATTER WHAT).
  2. By believing in ALL of God's SUPER NATURAL POWERS.
  3. By asking God to SAVE ME FROM MYSELF.
  4. By telling others about my weaknesses and God's strengths.

  5. By asking God to FORGIVE ME, and to WASH ME WHITE AS SNOW.
  6. By realizing that Jesus had to die for me.
  7. By believing God is powerful enough to love someone LIKE ME.
  8. By believing God is powerful enough to raise people from the dead (Jesus)
  9. By being thankful for the blessings God had already given me.
10. By being thankful when he made me an EX, one EX at a time.
11. By offering my life to Him (God).
12. By spending time with Him (God).
13. By realizing I didn't want to be just SAVED.
14. By wanting to be God's friend.
15. By trying to do what God tells me to do.

By By old me, Hello NEW ME!!!

It is easy to criticize others when you are sitting on the bench.
It is easy to criticize others when you show no weakness.
It is easy to criticize others when your heart is hard.
It is easy to criticize others when you 'pick and choose' how you will follow Jesus.
It is easy to criticize when you put Jesus 'on the side'.

God Bless!
In His Hands,
Love, Glen
