It doesn’t matter which translation of the Bible you read, when it comes to Psalms 72:12-14. There are many words that are different if you compare the King James Version to the New International Version, but the message remains the same: The Lord hears the cries of the needy, and will save them oppression, violence, and death. The Lord promises to do these things, because He finds your blood precious in His sight.
If we take a glance back into America's History, we will see enough evidence to tell us that God fulfills this promise from Psalms 72:12-14.
The Lord heard the cries of the Pilgrims, then sent a miracle of an English speaking Indian (Squanto), with a big heart, which helped save the remaining 20 adults and 30 children Pilgrims from death.
The Lord heard the cries of the Revolutionary War, then saved and delivered us from
The Lord heard the cries of the American slaves, then sent them a miracle, and saved and freed them from opression, violence, and death.
Even the war that we are in today, when attached on
The Webster’s definition for a miracle is this: (1) An amazing or wonderful occurrence (2) A marvelous event manifesting a supernatural act of a divine agent.
My own definition of miracle is an indescribable, unexplainable, amazing, wonderful…supernatural occurrence that only comes from God Almighty.
I have witnessed many miracles with my own eyes. One of the biggest miracles that I have witnessed this year was this: I was filling out a sympathy card for a co-worker. I wanted to add Scripture below my name, and the first verse that came to my mind was ‘God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble’. I didn’t know where it was in the Bible, but I BELIEVED I could find it. When I opened my Bible, to my amazement, the first verse I read was Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble”.
The reason I wanted to use this verse in this inspiration was this: This past summer, when I was at the lowest point in my life, I cried out to God for His mercy (help), and He was there for me.
I ‘stumbled’ upon a small picture frame at a garage sale, which displayed this verse Psalms 46:1 (God is our refuge and strength, and ever-present help in trouble). I hung this small picture up on my kitchen wall. When I felt discouraged, I would go to the picture and read this promising Scripture from God.
When I went to look for this verse Psalm 46:1, the day I was filling out this sympathy card, I knew the verse well, but couldn’t remember its point of reference. Folks, even if my mind remembered that the verse was in Psalms (without me thinking Psalms)…it was still an amazing miracle. If you have ever glanced at Psalms or have tried to read through it, you have noticed that Psalms is the biggest book in the Bible. To turn directly to the verse I hoped for (without this page being marked or any verses underlined or highlighted), was truly a miracle from God.
Now, I believed God existed before this happened, and had a personal relationship with Him, but after this miracle (and the many previous miracles in my life) As God as my witness, I
I could write a book on the many miracles from God in my life, and the countless times God has heard my cry, but in order to end this inspiration, I want to share with you an important ‘revelation’ God gave me today during the wee hours of the morning.
Time and time again, God helps us, and in a BIG way (miracles) – this has been evident throughout our American existence. But time and time again, after receiving this help from God (many times from death) what do we do to thank Him for it? Time and time again, we thank God by our continuation of: greed, selfishness, arrogance, pride, hatefulness, unloving, evil speaking, lack of faith, disobedience…(the list is long).
With the help from God by Him giving us the help of Squanto, we thanked God by ‘The Trail of Tears’. With the help from God by Him freeing the slaves, we thanked God by holding onto our prejudices, hatefulness, pride…
With the help from God during
God wants us to love our enemies in this way:
Romans 12:16-21 “Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil with evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: it is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord. On the contrary: If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Matthew 5:39 (Jesus said) "...if someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."
I know it is difficult sometimes to turn the other cheek, but there are grave consequences for not heeding God’s advice. As with this (LONG) war we are in today, I wonder what the outcome would have been if we, as a nation, would have tried harder to turn the other cheek, and not give ultimatums and bombs. It doesn't seem logical to turn the other cheek sometimes, but I believe God would have pour out His blessings (more miracles) on us for heeding His advice. God is in the business of miracles, when we step out on faith and not by sight.
Now, I’ve heard many justify this war, but I have witnessed with my own two eyes the shape this great country is in (
I want to leave you with one last thought. There is much bitterness today against
We are mad at
We are bitter at
In 1866, just after the Civil War, we (as a nation) prayed desperately to God for the railroad passage to be completed (linking the west coast with the east). The Central Pacific Railroad crew started in
The Union Pacific was named the Hare (rabbit) because they managed to lay more track than the Central Pacific during the first year (because the land was flat in
Since the Central Pacific Railroad was slow in progress,
Many Chinese men died working for us day and night, helping us build our railroads through the tough terrain and granite. Since the Chinese men were so small, they were able to work in tight places, and set dynamite in places we didn’t want to.
There was a specific job that touched my heart. We lowered small Chinese men (one at a time) over the side of steep clifts (in a small basket). The same Chinese man set the dynamite in place, lit it, then would swing themselves out from the clift, to not be killed by the explosion.
If you know fireworks (dynamite) like I do, then you know that many would swing themselves out from the dynamite, only to return to the explosion. This is why, we as Americans, didn’t want this specific job. The same with the Mexicans, they continue to fill jobs in America that we do not want to fill, correct?
I hope you are hearing me.
We have many things to be thankful for as Americans. God provides us with help because of our cries, but when He helps us, we then look the other way. Today, people are kind when they need you for something, then they're not so nice when they don't.
At the end of this railroad race between the Central and Union Pacific (saving a month in travel time), the two sides finally met – and there was a big celebration. They took a 'famous' photo of this celebration. It is noted that not (one) Chinese man was in this picture. We paid these Chinese men less than the
Today, we continue to pay the Mexican’s less money, here in America, because most of them must ‘work under the table’. We've never had tight control on the US/Mexican boarders because we have always needed the illegal Mexicans for cheap labor.
Folks, let’s stop blaming other countries for the problems we find ourselves in. We show ourselves as being a Christian nation to other countries, yet we don’t follow Christ’s example.
I hope in reading the above, you related this to back to Jesus. He came to help us (save us) because of our tears/cries to God. When Jesus came, we mocked and laughed at Him, because we couldn’t see how this one man could save us. We let Jesus die (we killed Him) to do a job that we didn’t want to do. Then after this big sacrifice and the many miracles of Jesus, we continue to turn the other way and don’t want anything to do with Him. If we do want anything to do with Him, it is to only save ourselves, and once we are saved and have hope, peach, love, joy… we don’t want to give Jesus the credit, because we are too embarrassed to tell others. We surely don’t give God the proper praise and thanks'giving' that Only He deserves!
God Bless!
In His Hands,
Love, Glen
The reason I revealed to you this miracle from God to me (the sympathy card at the beginning of this inspiration) was this: I want you to memorize this passage of Scripture, because I am LIVING proof that God fulfills this promise: Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength; an ever-present help in trouble”.
Thank you God!!! Praise Your HOLY Name!!! Thank you JESUS for helping us by Your sacrifice!!! In Jesus’ Sweet Name, Amen!
There are 2 videos attached to this inspiration, the second video (directly below this video) is a special tribute by Lizzy Palmer (age 15) for the brave men and women that have fought, been wounded, have died... during the current war that we are in.
Please pray for peace in Israel (Jerusalem). Psalms 122:6-9, 125:5, 128:6
Psalms 120:6-7 (David said) "Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war."
Please don't forget the second video (underneath the following video).
If your trail of tears is long, please listen to this next song.
