Hopefully, in my last few writings, you have noticed that I’ve shown little MERCY. I have ripped the Preachers, Churches (and its members), and Christians… to shreds.

I know deep in my heart that many readers were cheering me on, and for good reason.

But, as I ripped my fellow brothers and sisters ‘a new one’, I hoped (with all of my heart) that you were, not only thinking about what I said, but were also thinking about this: ‘when is this guy going to lighten up and show a little MERCY’.

Many people talk about God’s mercies being new everyday and that they are thankful, but do we really understand what God's mercy is? Do we truly practice what Jesus preached?

Hopefully, in my ‘ripping to shreds’, you thought about the church in a positive light. Hopefully, you were defending your Pastors, and seeing them, not in the ways I was describing, but in different ways: ‘My Pastor is down to Earth’, ‘My Pastor is NOT all about money’, ‘churches in general is good for mankind and not evil’, 'church is the bride of Christ', ‘it doesn’t matter if my Pastor wears a tie – IF he is delivering the right message’, ‘its not FAIR that Glen is saying these things’, ‘Glen must be ANGRY again’, ‘this guy has NO RIGHT!’, ‘this guy is HURTING the church…

First, let me say this:

I’m not the one who ‘invented’ gossip, money hunger, the proud, dead-beat Christians, Christians that believe in multiple ways to get to Heaven, suits, ties, joyless music, Christians that worship (NOT LIKE DAVID IN PSALMS), old Mrs. Prune Juice…

None-the-less, in this inspiration, I am to describe MERCY.

If you were merciful to me, then you are still reading my writings. If you are my friend, then you have decided to love me without conditions - and to stand by me for the long haul (good or bad).

Hopefully, you are WITH your church, Christians, and Pastors for the long haul (good or bad). Because COMING SOON, will be a day, when 'Christians' FLEE from their RELIGION.

I’m afraid, in the society we live, we SHOW LITTLE MERCY!!!

Thank God for His new MERCIES, each and everyday!!!

Lamentations 3:22-23 "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." NIV

God is JUSTIFIED to HATE US, SCORN US, WIPE US OUT, TURN HIS BACK, BE UNLOVING, UNCOMPASSIONATE… but, He chooses not to be… He loves us with His Amazing Grace, Compassion, Carries Us, Wipes Away Our Tears, Never Turns His Back, and Picks Us Back Up When We Fall (each and every one of us) = MERCY

I’m afraid that I was TRULY justified in what I said in the inspirations ‘Pop the Preacher’, ‘Psalms of Gossip’, ‘American Idol’, ‘Open House’, and ‘Fish Bowl’. BUT, if I fail to show MERCY to EVERYONE, then I fail as a Christian writer, and I fail as a Christian.

God wants Christians to be MERCIFUL, and if you thought about your church or your Pastor as being merciful and compassionate (when I challenged you to think about it), then you are in the right place!!!

We often times (more often than not) are mercyLESS to the sinful, the scarlet letters, the divorcee, the alcoholic, drug abuser, homeless, biker, begger, thief, liar, teenager - pregnant, homosexual, loud, rich… we are TRULY a hateful society, and we foster into flames a ton of anger, rage, persecution, judgment, labeling, cursing, depression, looking down upon others, especially the sinful, when each and everyone one of us are guilty Romans 3:23.

We are all drug users (even if its just pop, prescription medicines, television…), we are all liars, gossipers, angry, depressed… sometimes..... and we ALL need Jesus because of it – I hope you are honest with yourself and I hope you are receiving the message I (and God) are trying to deliver.

We ALL fail. No there is NONE righteous, NO NOT ONE: Romans 3:10
(except for Jesus).

As a Christian community, we do NEED to rise up and make some changes – let the first changes be this: MERCIFUL – GRACEFUL – LOVING – COMPASSIONATE, NON JUDGMENTAL, NEVER TURNING OUR BACKS... on the one lost sheep that got away (which is really BILLIONS of lost sheep in today’s world)!!!

I was very blessed to think (while writing the NON-MERCIFUL inspirations) that we, as a Christian community: do provide food for the poor, pay their utility bills, offer a listening ear, give to missions, clean up neighbor's yards, shovel sidewalks... I was very thankful for MY CHURCH, MY PASTOR, MY FELLOW FRIENDS… and I hope you had the same warm feelings as me.

Folks, in today’s world, we are justified to persecute, but its not who JESUS is (was), and we should be followers of Jesus, correct? (please say "yes")

Show a little mercy to the ‘needle’ drug abuser, the negligent parent, the homosexual, the Pastor that slips slides away, the child abuser (OUCH)… be there for them… to tell them who Jesus is!!! It may be future children that you save, by leading child abusers hearts towards Jesus.

Jesus was not about cupcakes and sunshine here on Earth… but I'm sure He's having a good time now! Jesus is about Truth, Mercy, Grace, Love, Trust… and these things don’t come naturally to any of us (apart from God). Jesus was killed for these things, because love, truth, mercy and grace were extremely RARE during His days on Earth (and its WORSE today) = Birthpains (Revelations).

If you are looking in ALL the wrong places, and not turning to God for His joy, mercy, grace, love..., I’m afraid your search will continue and you will never find rest – that is until you find Jesus (RED WORDS in the Bible).

Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all of you who are weary and loaded down with burdens, and I will give you rest.

Will you take part in my new joy and rest? Will you invite Jesus to be your new best friend, Lord, Savior, Peace Maker, Deliverer, Healer...?

When we live like Jesus, the ‘one’ lost sheep comes to Him, and they might even come to your church! (Ladies – keep COOKING, just in case we don't act like Jesus!)

I am a man that was heavily persecuted by all of the many labels people put on me. I know I helped put those labels on my back, but I wished often that others would have shown me extra mercy, love, forgiveness, tenderness, healing words (behind my back)...

Labels are like extra weight - easy to put on, but so hard to take back off.
Let Jesus remove ALL of the labels from YOU!!!
 

With the lifestyles I chose to live (away from God), I often wondered why God didn’t just ‘take me out’, ‘wipe me away’, ‘love me less’, send me to Hell…  Today, I know it was His Love, His Sacrifice (which was and is enough), His Amazing Grace, and of course His Mercies – which come NEW – each and every blessed day, paid by the precious blood of Jesus, and is Free - FREE INDEED!
