Whenever I see a teenager with acne, I want to run up to them and tell them to use Ivory soap. I was afflicted with acne, and I tried many products to get rid of the many sores covering my face, in my ears…acne can be very painful. The alcohol medicated pads just seemed to irritate it and make the acne worse.
As a teenager, your face is greasier and dirtier, thus if you take the time to wash your face, a few times a day, with Ivory soap (which is a soap that dries your skin like no other), then the acne will probably go away (that is what worked for me). Also, a special note, DO NOT squeeze or pick at the sores, because this will cause scaring and divots.
I’m a very bold person, but I can’t seem to give a teenage stranger the advice of using Ivory soap, because I don’t want to add to their persecution…please note, true friends (like Jesus) don’t care what you look like on the outside, if you have a good heart and love others, then you are BEAUTIFUL/HANDSOME to God.
Before I tell you about some good earthly products (that work), I want to tell you about a ‘product’ that God promises to work.
If you have ever lived with depression, you know as well as I do, that depression can sneak up on you, and seems to come in regular cycles (when we seem to have nothing to be depressed about). Depression can be crippling, make you physically sick, and can truly cause one to think God is far away.
God’s number one product that helps me, when I am depressed, is the book of Psalms in the Bible. Late in the morning, I seem to be so happy, but as evening comes and
I’ve had the privilege of reading Psalms, so when I get depressed, I think about King David. This always cheers me up for the following reasons: When David wrote Psalms, he was getting 'up there' in years. Yes, this was the same young Sheppard boy David, that killed Goliath with a stone and sling. This was also the same David that marched into battle upon battle and conquered many nations that were against God, but when he wrote Psalms, depression and fear seemed to ‘sneak’ up on him.
Time and time again, David truly feared for his life! He felt alone throughout Psalms, because most of the Christians had been killed, the churches had been destroyed, and apart from God, he never really mentions other friends here on this earth.
I encourage you to choose Psalms to bring you out of depression!!! Most tiny Bibles (like the Bibles the Gideons give away) include Psalms and Proverbs, along with the New Testament. You can carry these tiny Bibles with you throughout the day. When depression smacks you in the face,
God speaks to me each and every time I read from Psalms. In one short chapter, David is begging God for protection over his life, then the next short chapter will be joy, excitement, dancing…thanking God for keeping him alive and safe. Life can be so depressing if you worry about the billions of ways you can lose your life (cancer, guns, smoking, car wrecks……………).
At the end of the day, it is exciting to know that God keeps my family safe from all harm!

I’ve gotten in the habit of thanking the angels around me (and God of course) for keeping me safe. I KNOW (especially now), that Satan and his demons would like to get their slimy little hands on me, and yes, take my life. As I am spending every waking minute of the day trying to plant seeds for Christ (save the world), and trying to heal others one problem at a time (like depression and acne)...(with God’s love, strength, Grace…).
So, if you are crippled by depression, or if you just find your self depressed, for no apparent reason, then try reading from Psalms, or the RED words in the Bible. God’s Holy Words always comforts my soul (so does handing over, to God, all of my worries in prayer).
Before I move onto the earthly products that work, I want to tell you this. A few years ago, I told an older gentleman (alcoholic & drug abuser) that I wished to find a drug that could make me happy and have energy all day every day. He looked into my eyes and told me this: If you want to be happy and have energy all day long, then don’t take anything at all, eat right, and exercise. Today, my new ‘drug’ is Jesus Christ, and I can’t seem to sleep past 6 hours/day – and yes, I am happier and have more energy than EVER BEFORE!!! Thank you God!!! Praise God!!!
On to the earthly products that
Dishwasher soap – Cascade complete (all in 1).
Laundry soap – The new Arm & Hammer brand.
Hand sanitizer – Meijers brand – it comes in a bigger bottle and smells great.
Apple cider vinegar – every time I have sore throat and feel sick, I drink a little (1/2 teaspoon) apple cider vinegar, and the next morning Walla, sickness gone! Warning, it tastes NASTY to drink vinegar, you must immediately chase it with juice. It takes much practice, but keeps cancer away…it is always best to drink it 30 minutes before eating, or before bedtime (cleans your mouth out too!).
Carhart clothing – Expensive, but sturdy!
Heyerly’s Bakery – in Ossian, Indiana – YUMMY! Especially the nut subs!
Keebler elf cookies – enough said.
Doritos – most flavorful.
Great Value Vanilla Soymilk – tastes exactly like the Silk brand – but less expensive.
