Wear my shoes, back to my childhood, to give you an idea of what it was like to be abused by my uncle for 7+ years (from a very young age). Out of fear and shame, I didn't tell anyone until 19 years old (when I realized for the first time, the sexual abuse was NOT my fault).
By me not speaking up, MANY more children were abused and used, and this weighed heavily on my heart for many years, led to a life of drug-addiction, labels, storms, shame, guilt, and jail time (convicted felon at age 18).
The average sexual-child-abuser abuses 70+ children within his/her 'career'. My parents had NO IDEA that I was being sexually-abused for 7+ years!!!
