Awhile back, I ‘encouraged’ you to debate the war between us and Irac. I asked if we should have placed all of our resources into helping Jerusalem, instead of Irac. 

You may have immediately raised your voice at my thinking, which seems (by many) so far out of the box, that you swore up and down that you would stop listening to what I had to say.

My ‘survey’ was to inspire you to think only, and to ponder the purpose of war. I am quite certain, for the past 8 years, you have pondered this war with Irac (just as I have).

Yes, I wanted to come across as simple-hearted, simple-minded, simple-spirited… but when it comes to war, it's not simple. We all struggle with turning the other cheek. There's much anxiety and uncertainty when fighting other nations. It did cross our leader’s minds - the casualties, calamity, debt, and the outcome of this war (or at least it should’ve).

There's a purpose to my reasoning. The primary purpose was to inspire you to think, and to inspire you to speak up for what you believe. To never suppress your beliefs, especially when it comes to Jesus Christ and the cross.

There's a purpose to this war we are in, and I believe the purpose goes well beyond oil and prejudices.  I believe we are on a huge battleground, fighting against those who are against us Christians. But, I have witnessed and heard the opinions (from many common mouths), their reasoning to this war, and Islam or Muslim is never brought to surface in their opinions.

It was my desire to ‘stir the pot’ (poke the bear) in my last email, in order for you to hear me, and to listen, to debate, to be intrigued enough to care and to be inspired… but most of all, I want for us to pray for Israel (Jerusalem)!!!

In reading the Bible for myself, time and time again, I have read things like this: to never stop caring for God’s people in Israel. To give 10% of our men and tithes to Jerusalem. To keep praying for Israel and to never stop. But, I’m afraid the average person and Christian doesn’t give much thought to Jerusalem or the ‘wailing wall’. We don't remember to pray for Jerusalem, nor do we give the Christians, in this region, the respect and attention they deserve. I would've loved for us to use the resources (that has gone into Irac) to help protect Jerusalem. Jerusalem is in turmoil, and the Christians are heavily persecuted, and God has called us to care. At minimum, let’s pray for the Christians in Jerusalem, o.k.?

In my last email, I wanted to bring to surface a sense of doubt. The same doubt that most Americans feel in regards to the war between us and Irac. Again, many of us question whether we ‘did the right thing’ by diving into this war. We have now witnessed and experienced many great hardships. Many lives have been lost and wounded, and we have spent more money on this war than any other... money that could have been used to help the needy (3rd world countries). If you find yourself at peace with the war in Irac, then please let me assure you that the families of lost sons/daughters... may never find peace again.

You may feel the same way I do about praying and using our resources for Jerusalem instead of Irac, but I hope you realized that we can’t just drop everything in Irac now and move our attention to Jerusalem (easily). Does our new president give much thought to Jerusalem? I'm sure my name will be heavily persecuted in many homes, for my lack of understanding and my ‘simple-ness’. But there's truth in what I say about Jesus' teaching. We are to pursue peace, turn the other cheek, and as far as it depends on us... seek PEACE - LOVE!  God does not like war, and I think war results from greed, territory, resources, sin...

I also believe that it is necessary to fight sometimes. Throughout the Bible, Christians were attacked and they defended themselves - in war.
 

A great name to bring up now is Sir Winston Spencer Churchill. At the beginning of his political career, he was considered by many to be an ‘out of the box’ type of thinker and writer. Sir Churchill wore many hats and was titled many things: Lord, President of Trade, Prime Minister, Officer, Secretary of State… the list is quite long.

When Sir Churchill died, he received a funeral fit for a queen or king, and in the same parlor as King George the Sixth... The line of citizens wishing him their last respects stretched for miles.  

Sir Churchill was born in 1874 and in a palace (Blenheim). This palace is now considered to be Britain’s greatest palace. His father was British and his mother American.

In 1898, Sir Churchill was an officer of the Army and participated in a Calvary charge. Then he fought in another battle in South Africa, where he was captured (but escaped). After his escape, there was a ‘price’ on his head of 25lbs. – dead or alive.

In 1911, he began his political career. He was an author, leader, speaker... During his political career, Churchill nearly shot himself in the 'political foot’ with his warnings about Germany (Hitler).

Time and time again, you may have said to yourself that I too (Glen) have ‘shot myself' in the political foot of writing, but believe me when I say this: I'm a nobody apart from God. I am a convicted felon, an ex-drug abuser…  Apart from God, I'm not very special indeed (well, with the exception of my kids, because I am special to them indeed.)

But, Sir Winston Churchill had much to ‘lay on the line’ when he spoke his beliefs (in writing) and stood up for what he thought was right (time and time again). He did speak out and was a POWERFUL voice!!!  Do you stand up for what you believe (in Jesus Christ)?

If I am remembered for saying anything at all, I want it to be these following phrases: “Words are only words if not spoken by the heart, and you MUST put action with your passion to change the world”. “Jesus came to this earth to set us free – free indeed”. “It’s not what we possess that makes us rich, it's what we do with what we possess that determines our true worth." “If you’re going to die for something, please die for Jesus.” “Pride in yourself is STUPID”.

Sir Churchill was a POWERFUL speaker. He risked his career and reputation by getting on the airways and expressing his concerns, such as the warnings he gave in regards to the “grave” crisis in India, March 1931. He said phrases like ‘great mismanagement and weakness’ ‘causing unrest for 300 million primitive people’s well being, who are in our care’. ‘It is our duty as citizens of the British Empire to make up your minds what should be done’ ‘with attention it demands’ ‘calls for clear policy’ ‘pursue it with courage and conviction’, if not,  ‘may well produce chaos in India’… these were not popular statements at the time. None-the-less, Sir Churchill spoke what was on his heart, mind, and soul. He followed his advice to “pursue it with courage and conviction”.

Do we pursue our beliefs, as Christians, with courage, faith, and conviction? Do we have the type of faith we need, the type of faith described in the Bible? We need to and I'm here to warn us all, to stand up for Jesus despite any persecution that may come our way.

When the British discovered Hitler’s intentions to consume: Holland, Belgium, Poland, Checkoslovakia, Austria… the British finally heeded Sir Churchill’s advice and placed him in charge of the war.

In one of Sir Churchill’s speeches, he said things that explained to me that war is sometimes necessary. Churchill notes that the English sought PEACE first and foremost, and gave Hitler many chances to change… Did Irac attack us? Are Christians being attacked in Jerusalem? Are Christians being attacked here in America?  Jesus has been removed from our schools, businesses, churches... I believe we have a big fight on our hands, right here at HOME!!!

We are being attacked (as Christians) and we must not lose courage and faith, or turn our backs (look the other way) because the fight continues. As Christians we are hated and we are being fought. Please arm yourself with God’s armor. Please study the Bible and find the TRUTH for yourself.

When the Germans burnt London to the ground, Sir Churchill did not lose hope or faith, because he said that he would ‘rather London burn to the ground, than to quit fighting and become slaves to the enemy.

Out of all the excellent quotes by Sir Churchill, the following was the quote that impressed on my heart the most. “As long as we have faith in our cause… salvation will not be denied.” He then quotes King David when he said this next verse to hundreds of thousands of people: Psalms 112:7 “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.”

You may be asking yourself what you can do for this war in Irac, and for the war on Christians in Israel, and here at home. You can do this: 1. Pray for them. 2. Stand up for what you believe. 3. Tell everyone about Jesus (do not discriminate). 4. Study the Bible for the TRUTH (if you are a dedicated Christian – I recommend reading Jeremiah and Revelations again). 5. Do not look the other way! 6. Do not run from your faith (because the future will only get more frightening). 7. Don’t be afraid to be persecuted for your beliefs in God (even to the death). 8. Be thankful for the sacrifice of others. 9. Speak out! 10. Rise up! 11. Be thankful to God for keeping us safe. 12. Let Jesus fix our hearts.  13. Let The Holy Spirit guide us. 14. Trust in the Lord!!!

God used Sir Churchill. Sir Churchill was a perfect example of the good that comes out of ‘standing up for yourself’. Churchill said many good things about America, and our nation's similarity to England. We know the outcome of WWI and WWII, we won the war against the enemy. Please have the courage and faith to stand up for what you believe – this ONE man changed history for good. So did Jesus Christ.

After Sir Churchill’s death, the Archbishop of Canterbury labeled Churchill this way ‘God’s Gift to the World’.  How do you label Jesus?  Jesus is God's gift to the world. John 3:16

How will you be remembered?

If God has given you a voice, then try using it, or at minimum pray for the strength to use it (your voice).  And please quit labeling and persecuting those that try – using their voices!!!  Warning: you will be persecuted!!! I know, because I am living proof!
