Most likely, we have told our sons and daughters something like this: sweetie, don’t be afraid, there’s no such thing as ghosts.
Are ghosts real?
Well, since I am a writer that has teamed up with God, I would like to tackle yet another difficult subject. With God, one can successfully forgive the unforgivable, teach the unteachable, explain the unexplainable, describe the indescribable, speak the unspeakable, and write the unwritable…
Before we continue, I want you to pause and try to answer this question yourself, just to see what you believe. Are ghosts real?
The Merriam-Webster Dictionary gives (7) definitions for the word ‘ghost’. I have copied and pasted (3) of the (7) definitions.
1: the seat of life or intelligence : soul <give up the ghost>
2: a disembodied soul ; especially : the soul of a dead person believed to be an inhabitant of the unseen world or to appear to the living in bodily likeness.
As with the subject of death, we are taught early in life (especially in America) to not speak about death (or at least when I was growing up). The discussion of ghosts is another uncomfortable topic.
Yesterday, I had the privilege and freedom to, once again, sit amongst fellow Christians in worship (to God) at church. Yesterday’s sermon was titled “I Am Rich”. Craig Grammer described for us HOW RICH WE TRULY
Craig, inspired by God, explained to us that many Christians are Spiritually rich, yet we live our lives not realizing just how RICH we really are.
Craig quoted the following Scripture: Ephesians 1:3 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
The word ‘has’ was chosen to describe how we (as Christians) have already been blessed with spiritual blessings. You don’t have to wait for spiritual blessings. God

(I encourage you to please read the entire book of Ephesians for yourself, six chapters – it will truly help you feel RICH as a Christian (and I'm not talking about $$).
So, by human definition, a ghost is a ‘spiritual’ 'being' such as a demon, etc. And, by our Heavenly Father (God’s Word), we know that there are demons and The Holy Spirit (often time referred to as The Holy Ghost).
Craig pointed out that many of us give special attention to God-The-Father and God-The-Son, but seldom speak of God-The-Holy Spirit’. Spirits in general are seldom discussed; however, it’s from the Spiritual blessings that we are TRULY BLESSED as Christians.
I especially enjoy the gift of protection!!! There is a spiritual battle/war being fought as I write. Satan and His demons try hard to attack me (all of us). I am very thankful to have God’s seal/mark upon me, signifying that I am God’s child!!! Ephesians 1:13
I also enjoy the fact that God chose me (all of us) to be His children (through Jesus Christ).
Ephesians 1:4 “For He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.”
When we entered this world, we became sinful, unholy, blameful… There were 2 kingdoms discussed in Craig's message – God’s Kingdom and this Earthly kingdom. When we were born, we entered this Earthly kingdom. We now need to choose God’s FREE gift of salvation through Jesus Christ to enter God’s kingdom, and to receive God’s PROTECTION!!!

So, are ghosts real? My answer is YES.
I’m certain that most of us would agree that there is God-The-Holy Ghost and demons (still today). There is a spiritual war going on, and we do not have the luxury to ignore it. Yes, we have a hedge of protection. We know from reading the Holy book of Job what damage Satan and his demons can do to someone without this hedge of protection. But, not everyone is God’s children as He intended, and most of the souls on this Earth are lost and without His hedge of protection.
I imagine that for many Christians under God’s hedge of protection, they may never need to deal with demonic folks. It may be easier for them to live (if I can be frank) an ‘ignorance is bliss’ type of life, and to never want to discuss ‘ghosts’ or demons, but I have personally met people whom I feel are demon possessed, and they do evil things that I feel go beyond themselves/ or their addictions. People placing their babies in microwaves, the many shootings at schools/churches, mothers drowning their kids, kidnapping children, raping children, children committing suicides… often times, when I hear these stories, I ask myself – how could this be? What would cause someone to do these things? Folks, evil, Satan, demons… are powerful... and real.
You should feel RICH (blessed), if you’ve never dealt with the evil side of life. But, don’t be so sure that you will never need to discuss these things. You probably know relatives that are not under God’s protection 'plan' (grandkids, nieces or nephews…).
Many people, here on Earth, are now worshipping Satan through witchcraft, séances, music… we now have popular television shows such as ‘Charmed’ that display spirits entering and exiting bodies like it’s some kind of game. I am extremely thankful to be on the stronger side – the winning team – but how can I look the other way, and ignore the dark side? I have small children, and will probably have grandchildren, and great-grand children…
We need to start talking about The Holy Spirit, because this younger generation seems to be bored and spoiled. They are looking for something new and exciting, and Satan is gaining a foothold with our children!!! Are you hearing me? We are not in an age of picking and choosing our discussions!!! We must discuss undesirable subjects like death (and life ever-after), and we must discuss unpopular topics such as demons, ghosts, Satan… Get your children hooked on the popular God-The-Holy Ghost - make them RICH - get them PROTECTED!!!
Let's discuss for a minute, the second definition from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary (above). There are many beliefs 'floating' around that our human souls/spirits/ghosts linger here on Earth when we die. When my family gets together for the holidays, I do feel my deceased mother's presence with us, and I miss her dearly. I know her memory will always be with us. HOWEVER, in all of my studies of the Bible thus far, I have concluded that when we die, our souls/spirit/ghost goes directly before The Throne of God for judgment, and from judgment we either go to Hell or Heaven. Please remember the man next to Jesus on the cross, Jesus told him that he would enter paradise (Heaven) that day with Jesus. Jesus is there right now on His Throne. Also, remember the story about the man (soul) that is already in Hell begging for a drop of water. I personally do not want to linger around!!!
With the above paragraph said, I do have a dear friend that continues on for the truth, because he is in a ministry that deals with demonic folks on an ongoing basis. My soul is at rest with my search for the truth, but if you feel that you are demon possessed, or not so sure what the truth is, I strongly encourage you to dive into the Bible for yourself. Folks, I would love nothing better than to tell my children that there’s no such thing as ghosts, and I will probably call evil spirits ‘Satan/demons' and not ghosts. But I am not ignorant nor do I want to be. Satan is attacking our young people and gaining a stronger foothold now more than ever before, and He wants nothing better than to deceive, fool, tempt, hurt...our children (all of us). Satan has made popular WICKED music, television, games… and I CHOOSE to not sit back and let him have my children, grandchildren...!!! I choose to teach my kids the TRUTH, and teach anyone else who will ‘listen’ that there is a HOLY GHOST, that there really is GOOD & EVIL!!!
We have listened to many campaigns on television in regards to talking to our children about drugs. Well, this is my campaign for all of us to WAKE UP AND TALK ABOUT SATAN, because whether we want to face him or not, HE IS REAL, and he is right in front of you (or inside of you).
I Peter 5:8 "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings."
